A Month with Mystic

This past month I had a mustang in training named Mystic. He is one of those special horses that makes you step up your game and become a better trainer and a better person. He has not made one step of this easy and for that I am thankful. I have learned a whole new level of patience and have a greater appreciation for what horses allow us to do. For a prey animal to allow us to handle them, ride them, and all the other things that come with day to day interaction is truly remarkable. There a few things as rewarding as building a relationship with a horse and no matter how long you get to work with them, they all leave you with something new. I am fortunate to get to spend everyday with these wonderful animals and look forward to all the ones I have yet to meet.
